About Panorama Cable Car at Langkawi Island
The Panorama Langkawi Cable Car is basically a wonderful telpher carrier, which is 2.2km in length. This great attraction starts its journey from the Oriental Village on the northwestern side of the island.
The Base Station is expediently sited on foothill of the Machincang Mountain. Visitors are taken up to the cool Machincang Mountain via the cablecar system from here. The ride will be a thrilling experience to enjoy for everyone coming here. While moving through the cable car, visitors will also be able to witness a glimpse of the fauna and flora surrounding the area.
The journey from the Base Station to Middle Station is around 1,700 meters in distance. You will be moving at an elevation of 650m above sea level. The panoramic views of the main island along with the surrounding ones are mesmerizing. The exclusive flora on the ridges can be spotted at a very close range and the wooded valley between the Middle to the Top Station is fabulous.
As the journey starts from the base station the gondola instantly moves upwards almost 400 meters at a 42 degrees elevation. It will take you straightway up to the Mount Matahari which is one of the highest mountains (hills) on the island.
When you will be reaching at the top of the mountain which is around 700 meters high, it offers a magnificent view of the island. Just in front of the mountain Mutiara Burau Bay Resort and Berjaya Langkawi Resort are located in Oriental Village and the Burau Bay area. On the other side two luxurious resorts- The Andaman and the Datai enhances the picturesque view.
From the gondola the Seven Wells can be seen very well, which is again a wonderful tourist destination in Langkawi. The most interesting thing is the presence of a restaurant on top of the mountain. You can see a store as well. So enjoy the food and you can have some refreshment as well.
So, try to be here during clear weather, as the surrounding will look clear. Better to be here by the early morning. You can visit the place from Monday Thursday from 10am till 7pm. Whereas on Wednesday you are allowed to come here from 12pm 7pm and Friday Sunday and on Public & School Holidays you can get an entry from 9.30am 7pm. Sometimes due to maintenance the attraction is closed to public.
