About Masjid Tanah

Masjid Tanah is a mukim in Alor Gajah District, Melaka, Malaysia. The town has been occupied since mid 1500 AD beginning from a little town. It is one of the biggest towns in Melaka. In the late 1990s, there was a land blast in Masjid Tanah when the administration chose to assemble a Petronas oil refinery in close-by Sungai Udang. It has numerous shorelines in Pengkalan Balak, 7 km away, and is near Tanjung Bidara and Kuala Sungai Baru. You can come here with your family members and friends.

The name of Masjid Tanah originates from the mosque masjid that was produced using soil tanah by a sheik from Gujarat around 1800. This mosque was likewise worked by a neighborhood named Hj. Sulong container Sibeng. The majority of the mosque that was worked from soil was obliterated later yet reproduced in 1951. This mosque was shared by a few kampungs towns. Each kampung has their own pioneer ketua kampung. The majority of the kampungs are named after plant species. This custom of taking the name in view of plants is most likely impacted by the idea of the name of Melaka itself. Melaka is in actuality a name of a tree.
