About Notre Dame de Gravenchon
Notre-Dame-de-Gravenchon is a previous cooperative in the Seine-Maritime division in the Normandy locale in northern France. On 1 January 2016, it was converged into the new cooperative of Port-Jerome-sur-Seine. A community with a gigantic mechanical territory Port-Jerome toward the southwest with cultivating and forest toward the north and east, in the Pays de Caux, arranged by the banks of the stream Seine, somewhere in the range of 32 km east of Le Havre, at the intersection of the D81, D373 and D110 streets.
The wards of Saint-Georges-de-Gravenchon and Notre Dame were a piece of the regal space of Lillebonne. The oucnts of Evreux fabricated the medieval chateau of Fontaine-Saint-Denis. The two areas were joined as one cooperative in 1823 under the name of Notre-Dame-de-Gravenchon. In 1930, two oil refineries with two separate lodging areas were set up. Amid World War II, the refineries were incompletely pulverized 1940 however remade after 1945. Notre Dame de Gravenchon has been involved by the Germans as from 12 June 1940 and freed on 31 August 1944 together by the British and Belgian militaries Brigade Piron.
Spots of intrigue:
• The congregation of Notre-Dame, dating from the 12th century.
• The congregation of St.Georges, dating from the 20th century.
• A 17th century open washhouse.
• Remnants of the medieval mansion and sanctuary at La Fontaine-Saint-Denis.
