Drancy

Drancy is a cooperative in the northeastern rural areas of Paris in the Seine-Saint-Denis division in northern France. It is found 10.8 km from the focal point of Paris. The name Drancy originates from medieval latin Derenciacum, and before that Terentiacum, signifying "home of Terentius", a Gallo-Roman landowner. In the 17th century, Drancy was partitioned into two particular towns: Drancy le Grand and le Petit Drancy. The quarter "Town Parisien" is based on the old area of the villa of Groslay which was encompassed by the woods of Bondy.

The finish of 19th century was set apart by the industrialisation and by the advancement of rail transports.
