Arrival in Colombo (CMB), Sri Lanka International Airport, meet with local representative of Wanderlust-Asia and continue down South to Beruwela, check into your hotel and spend the day at leisure before you head further down the coast to visit the Galle Dutch Fort. Spend your afternoon in this beautiful fortified city, historically a Dutch fortress now a UNESCO World heritage site. Discover the old and the new, discover people of different ethnicities, a wonderful mix of architecture and culture. A stroll down the old town with interesting street names would be like a walk down the memory lane, reminiscing Ceylon in the colonial days. As you explore, you’ll find Portuguese constructed Dutch fortified majestic Galle fort landmarks within the premises such as the National museum- depicting history and the life of the Galle inhabitants, the fort library – the treasure trove of rare books, Galle maritime museum, Heritage houses, narrow alleys, eateries, art galleries and the mix bag of boutiques and shops in every nook and corner selling antiques, souvenirs, jewelry, arts and crafts.

Following breakfast you will be transferred to Udawalawe – to visit the National park, for a safari in the wild! Udawalawe national park that was set up to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the Udawalawe Reservoir construction work back in the 1970s, now is a safe haven for elephants, birds, butterflies, reptiles and mammals. Elephants - you may spot them in the wild even mid-day or spot one or two of them near the tank. Even more interesting close encounter you could make if you visit the Elephant Transit Home at the park where orphaned elephant calves are rehabilitated prior to their release into the wild. Also you will be dropped in to Mankada Arts and Crafts Center, in close proximity to the park to buy stunning beer mugs, window- chimes, plates, tea pots, and ornaments adorned with elephant and animal foot prints. A pottery project that empowers the local community in Udawalawe. Upon your arrival in Udawalawe, check into the hotel and be on your way to the National park to enjoy an evening game drive. After the Safari, head back to the hotel for Dinner.

Following breakfast, be on your way to witness the breathtaking sights of Ella. The picturesque Ella, is also known for its wonderful tea estates amongst other adventurous things! The drive will take you on a scenic ride through acres of lush tea estates; here you will see tea pickers, mostly females clad in sarees carefully picking the tender two leaves and a bud which are essential to making fine tea. You will have the opportunity to visit a tea factory and experience first-hand how world famous Ceylon Tea is made. Visiting the stunning Rawana Falls en-route is not an option but a MUST do! Once you’ve checked into your hotel in Ella, spend the rest of the day at Leisure.

Start your day with a hike! A Hike with views that you will never forget. Following breakfast – proceed to the Ella Rock also known as Little Adam’s peak, which is named after its big brother, the Holy Mountain Adam’s Peak – because of their similar shape. The beginning of the path goes through beautiful green tea plantations, it is an easy path to hike and the scenery is to die for! Following the climb head to the famous Demodara Nine Arch Bridge one of the highlights of Ella. It’ll be about a walk of half an hour through a jungle before you reach this amazing master piece hidden in the middle of greenery. This has been known to be a MUST DO in Srilanka for all adventurous or pretty much every traveler! Once the adventure is done, head to the Ella town and enjoy refreshments! Head back to hotel for Dinner.

Following breakfast, be on your way to Colombo. Bet you are going to love the diversity of this destination. Full of fun and frolic! Colombo; Sri Lanka’s commercial capital brings varying options be it leisure, dining, shopping or accommodation; marked with diverse colonial and cultural influences from Dutch and British colonial style architecture to Islamic mosques, Anglican and Catholic churches. Since it’s quite a long drive from Ella down to Colombo, if time allows you be able to do a city tour in Colombo. Some of the landmarks of your brief city tour will include - the President’s House and Chatham Street Clock Tower, Old Dutch Hospital now converted to a shopping and dining complex, Galle Face Green, the colorful Pettah shopping bazar, the Gangaramaya Temple housing Buddhist artefacts from all over the world, National Museum depicting Sri Lanka’s historical and cultural heritage, the Independence Memorial Hall designed in the typical style of a medieval Kandyan audience hall, the Independence Museum and the iconic Town Hall Building.

Following breakfast you will be transferred to the airport in time for your departure.
