With human encroachment the wildlife is confined to game parks. There is an advantage to this because one has to drive inside a park to be rewarded with the sight of many different species of animals.

Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort 4

After breakfast game leave Amboseli for Lake Naivasha .There will be a stop to view the Great Rift Valley scenery as you proceed to Naivasha. You will arrive in time for lunch, check in at Sopa Lodge Naivasha. Later in the afternoon in exploration of Naivasha with various activities at your cost. You can do any of the activities below but at your extra cost.

After breakfast, proceed to Maasai mara game reserve via Narok town then enter the Maasai mara road and drive across the plains to the camp. Check in at the camp for lunch. The meals are buffet, enjoyed either in the dining or under the shade of indigenous trees. The culinary affair is indeed one to delight the senses, have a few minutes relaxing and enjoying the surrounding before you depart for an afternoon game drives. The big five is an experience you cannot afford to miss among other animals.

Lake Nakuru Lodge 4

After breakfast, check out and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. You will arrive for lunch and after proceed with your afternoon game drive to enjoy the sight of pelicans bathing in the fresh water streams which terminate in Lake Nakuru. Since there is no existing drainage, Lake Nakuru is alkaline, the perfect place for flamingos to feed on the blue-green algae. The greater flamingo attains a height of about 4.26 feet its plumage is almost white with a pale pink, black tipped beak. It is the lesser flamingo that has the more exotic color. About 2.72 ft. in height, with a rosy plumage and dark red, black tipped beak. Lake Nakuru National Park has a great variety of bird life which includes the Egyptian goose and a variety of ducks that come from Europe to winter. This park is truly a bird watchers paradise. The game animals include hippo, water buck, gazelles, Colobus monkeys, buffalo, leopard and the Rothschild giraffe. The park is also a sanctuary for the white rhino. This park has an abundance of acacia trees, both yellow barked (fever tree) the umbrella-topped acacia and the candelabra cactus.

Samburu Simba Lodge 4

After breakfast, your safari adventure will begin as you depart by road driving across the equator to the Northern Hemisphere, and onwards to the semi-arid region of the Samburu Game Reserve. The name Samburu is of Maasai origin, a samburr is a traditional leather bag the Masai use for carrying honey and milk. This region is characterized by vast, open landscapes, dried riverbeds (depending on the season of the year) and its red volcanic soil.Rock outcroppings contrast against the dense woodland vegetation along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River, the river that gives life to the reserve. The area is home to the Samburu tribe, who are cousins to the Maasai people with their own distinct cultural traditions. Arrive at the camp or lodge in time for lunch, followed by some leisure hours for a siesta or swim before you depart for an afternoon game viewing drive, and return back to the camp or lodge before sunset.

This full day in the Samburu Game Reserve will be spent searching for the big five, the Samburu five and observing the vast unspoiled scenery during morning and afternoon game viewing Drives. The Park is plentiful with crocodiles that bask on muddy riverbanks and velvet monkeys that frolic in the late afternoon sun. Samburu is renowned for its rare species of fauna known as the Samburu five. These five particular animals are usually only found north of the equator /– the long necked gerenuk, the reticulated giraffe which is characterized by its liver-colored geometric patches defined by narrow white lines, the Grevys zebra which is smaller than the common zebra and looks more like a horse, the beisa oryx with black horizontal stripe running across its lower flank and the Somali ostrich males which have blue-grey necks and thighs. A camel-back safari is a specialty in Samburu, as well as a cultural visit to the Samburu people who depend on their cattle, goat, sheep and donkey can be arranged.

After breakfast, check out for a morning game drive in olpejeta conservancy, and then later depart for Nairobi arriving in the afternoon. Driver to drop you at the place of your hotel Nairobi or a transfer to the airport for your home bound flight.
