/• Day 1 /– Arrive at Zagreb and check into your hotel for the day. Head out at 6:30 pm to meet your new crew and your tour leader in the hotel lobby for a briefing about the week ahead. Then, head out with the group to a local restaurant to fill up on your first authentic Croatian dinner! Stuff yourself with traditional fare which could include crni rizot (a delicious squid risotto), purica s mlincima (turkey with baked pasta slices), and strukli (pastries filled with cottage cheese and sour cream). /• Day 2 - Half day tour with the guide Head out for a half day tour with the guide after having breakfast in the hotel. Explore downtown Zagreb and go see Mirogoj cemetery with its sculptured green avenues, chapels crowned with cupolas, vine-covered crypts, beautiful sculptures, and elaborately carved marble tombstones celebrating the lives of Croatian poets and presidents, writers, composers, and the like. This cemetery is one of the most beautiful in Europe and certainly the grandest you/’ll ever see. Ride on a blue tram for a short ride to the charming Upper Town (this is at an additional cost of 1 Euro per person, one-way). Here, visit St. Mark/’s square, St. Catherine/’s church, Dolac open air market, Ban Jela?i? square and The Museum of Broken Relationships (Time Permitting) Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. You can opt for a Croatian culinary workshop to understand and learn about Croatian cuisine (This is an optional activity. It is a 5 hour session which costs approximately Rs. 7,300- per person).
/• Day 3 - Drive on a private mini bus to Split, ( 4HR-30MIN WAY) Drive on a private mini bus to Split, the second largest city in Croatia. Enroute, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Plitvice Lakes National Park. Its a beautiful park with incredible flora and fauna and beautiful sceneries. Enjoy a three-course lunch at the Poljana restaurant (excluding drinks). You are free to explore Split in the evening as you wish and head out for dinner (at your own expense).
/• Day 4 - Go on a half day walking trip around Split. Visit the enormous Diocletian/’s Palace and inside observe the military fortress, imperial residence and a fortified town, as well as the Peristil Square and a mausoleum. It/’s one of the most impressive Roman ruins in the world and today, it/’s still inhabited with residents living in the quarters where Diocletian/’s soldiers once lived. Take a tour of the Ivan Mestrovi? Gallery, led by the curator. Mestrovi? was a Croatian prodigy and his ability to coax beauty and emotive drama from stone made him a sensation around the world. You/’ll have the opportunity to see his talent up close as you walk through the gallery and admire 86 bronze, marble and wood sculptures created by him. Enjoy lunch at the Spalatin restaurant. Go bar hopping as led by the guide and visit Blue Eyes and 3 more bars. *This is an optional activity which costs approximately EUR 23 per person, and includes the entrance fees as well as one welcome drink (either a shot or a cocktail) at each bar.
/• Day 5 /– Water activities /• After breakfast, ride a private speedboat, captained by an expert skipper and set off with jet speed to the little island of Hvar, one of the biggest hotspots on the Mediterranean for the rich and famous. Everyone from Bill Gates to Napoleon, Prince Harry to Brad Pitt, no less than three James Bonds (Sean Connery, Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan), Ellen DeGeneres as well as Beyonce & Jay-Z all chose to holiday here and once you arrive, you/’ll see why. /• Tour around Hvar as you explore this beautiful town in all its charm. /• Then, climb aboard your speedboat and make your way to Stari Grad, a UNESCO listed town which is on the northern side of the island. /• Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant on the Stari Grad Plain, including three glasses of different Croatian wines. /• Head back to Split in the evening and feel free to explore the city on your own.
