Day wise Itinerary
Day 1 : anuradhapura

You are met with traditional Sri Lankan hospitality at the airport, and then transported in your own private air conditioned vehicle by our courteous English speaking guide to Munneshwaram Temple in Chilaw. It is believed that Munneshwaram predates the Ramayana and a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva was located here. Munneshwaram means the first temple for Shiva Munnu and Easwaran. A Shiva Lingam was already here when Lord Rama visited this place. Lord Rama after his victorious battle left for Ayodhya with Sita in one of King Ravanas Vimanas. He felt he was being followed by a Bramhaasthi Dosham a malevolent black shadow as he had killed King Ravana who was a Brahmin. Following this you will drive to Anuradhapura, the first Ancient Capital of Sri Lanka, which has a wealth of ancient ruins and statues to be viewed. Here you will also see the oldest historically documented tree on this planet, which stands here unbroken for over 2,200 years.
Day 2 : trincomalee

After breakfast, you will visit the Anuradhapura Ancient Sites. Following this, you will drive to Trincomalee and visit the Koneshwaram Temple. Koneswaram temple of Trincomalee also historically known as the Thirukonamamalai Konesar Kovil, the Temple of the Thousand Pillars and Thiru Konamamalai Maccakeswaram Kovil is a Hindu temple venerated by Saivites throughout the continent. It is built atop Swami Rock, a rocky promontory cape overlooking Trincomalee, a classical period harbor port town. Following this you will visit to the famed SHANKARI Temple, is one of the 18 Devi Temples Ashta Dasha Shakti Peethas. Many have heard the Ashtadasha Shakti Peetha Shloka starting with LANKAAYAAM SHAANKARI DEVI composed by Sri Adi Shankara which means Shankari in Lanka. This Shloka enumerates the list of places of Devi temples which are considered to be part of the 18 Devi Peethas.
Day 3 : kandy

After breakfast, you will be taken to Dambulla, home of the famous Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, with its marvelous Buddhist statues and frescoes dating back to our ancient times, all inside of an amazing cave. Along the way could visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, where baby elephants are cared by man. Thereafter you will drive to Kandy, the center of traditional Sri Lankan culture, and home to the Kings of old. In the evening, you will enjoy a City Tour of Kandy, which includes the Upper & Lower Lake Drives, a Gem Museum, and the famous Kandy Market, among other very interesting sights following you will visit the beautiful Dalada Maligawa, The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha.
Day 4 : nuwara-eliya

After breakfast, a spectacular drive around the mountains, viewing endless tea plantations and majestic waterfalls, brings you to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lankas Little England where time seems to have stood still since the days of the British occupation. On the way to Nuwara Eliya you will visit the Hanuman Temple According to the ancient stories, Ramboda is an area, where the forces of Ramas gather to fight against King Ravana. This temple was built by the Chinmaya mission of Sri Lanka and dedicated to Hanuman. This temple houses for 16 feel height statue of Hanuman and a typical Tea Factory & enjoy a freshly brewed cup of tea. Later you will visit the Seetha Amman Temple and Ashok Vatika. The temple is located in the village of Seetha Eliya. This place is believed to be the site where Seetha was held captive by king Ravana, and where she prayed daily for Rama to come and rescue her in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. On the rock face across the stream are circular depressions said to be the footprints of Rawanas elephant. Ashok Vatika present location is believed to be the Hakgala Botanical Garden, the area is known as Seetha Eliya The Garden is situated at the base of the Hakgala Rock forms, has Sita Pokuna, a barren area atop the Hakgala Rock Jungle, where Sita was supposedly held captive.
Day 5 : bentota

After breakfast, you will you will travel to Ella and visit the Ravana falls and caves. The falls have been named after the legendary king Ravana, which is connected to the famous Indian epic, the Ramayana. According to legend, it is said that Ravana who was the king of Sri Lanka at the time had kidnapped princess Sita, and had hidden her in the caves behind this waterfall, now simply known as the Ravana Ella Cave. The reason for the kidnapping is said to be a revenge for slicing off the nose of his sister by Rama husband of Sita and his brother Laxmana. At the time, the cave was surrounded with thick forests in the midst of wilderness. It is also believed that Ramas queen bathed in a pool that accumulated the water falling from this waterfall. They believed that Ravana has played the Ravanahatha over here. Ella is blessed with some of the most beautiful views, you could find in Sri Lanka. Some of the places you could see in Ella are the Ella Gap, Little Adams Peak and Bambaragala Peak among the other many stunning sceneries. Following you will drive to Kalutara and check in to the hotel.
Day 6 : colombo

After breakfast, you will visit to the Madu River area surrounding the river are all swampy marshlands covered in mangrove forests. When it comes to birds, cormorants and kingfishers are a common sight. For avid bird watchers, the mangrove forests are a dream coming true. There are over 111 bird species identified to inhabit the region. There are 31 types of reptiles, namely snakes, lizards and crocodiles. There are also over 50 kinds of butterflies and 25 kinds of molluscs found in the Madu River zone following you will visit a Turtle Hatchery in Kosgoda. Following you will drive to Colombo and check in to the hotel. Later in the evening you will enjoy an interesting City Tour of Colombo which includes important residential and commercial areas, shopping centers, and other various fascinating sights which adds to the mystical ambience of being in this exotic land. The tour will also include visits to local temples, Gangarama Temple, Seema Malaka. Gangaramaya Temple is one of the most important temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka, being a mix of modern architecture and cultural essence. Seema Malaka is a Buddhist temple in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The temple is mainly used for meditation and rest, rather than for worship. Situated in the Beira Lake, the temple was originally constructed in the late 19th century.
Day 7 : colombo

Last Day, a day to relax and perhaps do some last minute souvenir shopping, as well as to bid goodbye to beautiful & exotic Sri Lanka, and its wonderful people, scenery, and mystical ambience. Today you will be accompanied to the airport in time to board your flight back home. End of tour.
