Wells

Wells is a little city in Elko County, in upper east Nevada in the western United States. The populace was 1,292 at the 2010 enumeration. Wells is situated at the intersection of Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 93, around 50 miles 80 km east of Elko and is a piece of the Elko micropolitan area.The site of Wells started as a place called Humboldt Wells along the trail to California. It was therefore established as a railroad town along the first Transcontinental Railroad, and was at one time a stopover for traveler trains. The Humboldt River has its source in springs and a swampy zone only west of the city that today is called Humboldt Wells. In the late nineteenth century, Humboldt Wells was burning to the ground, and in a hysterical request for help, a broadcast was sent that stated, "Wells is consuming". After this the town was revamped and essentially alluded to as 'Wells'.
