Frontera Comalapa

Frontera Comalapa is a metropolis within the state of Chiapas, Mexico. Recently it was cataloged as metropolis and its miles head of the homonymous municipality. It is positioned inside the limits of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas and the central melancholy. Its limits are to the north with the municipality of La Trinitaria, to the west with Chicomuselo, to the south with Bella Vista and Amatenango de Los Angeles Frontera and to the east with the Republic of Guatemala.

It has a territorial extension of 717.90 km² which constitute 5.62% of the surface of the Border area and 0.94% at the country level. Appears since the 16th century, attended by doctrine of the Dominican convent of Comitan. In 1665 Comalapa belonged to the parish of Yayaguita of the convent of Comitan. In 1921 it turned into Municipal Headquarters. 1670 It is located within the so-known as province of los llanos, whose inhabitants, grasping and abused via the landowner and cacique Diego de Salazar, immigrate to the area of Soconusco.
