Ravels

Ravels is a place and municipality inside the Belgian province of Antwerp . The municipality belongs to the electoral canton and the judicial canton of Arendonk . Although the municipality is named after the most important borough , Ravels, the city corridor is in Weelde because it's far extra relevant within the municipality. The population of Ravels, the Ravelsenaars or Ravelaars, endure the nickname Ravelse Pieren . The earliest call of Ravels is Ravenslo and already appeared in 1165 . Of this it is not regarded with fact whether the in-among s imply a form of possession or that a non-public name. On 1 January 1977 the municipalities of Poppel , Weelde ,

the Kijkverdriet district of Oud-Turnhout and the antique municipality of Ravels formed the new municipality of Ravels.
