In Hindusim, Lake Manasarovar is a personification of purity, and one who drinks water from the lake will go to the abode of Shiva after death. He is believed to be cleansed of all his sins committed over even a hundred lifetimes. Buddhists associate the lake with legendary lake Anavatapta where Maya is believed to have conceived Buddha. In Jainism, Lake Manasarovar is associated with the first Tirthankara, Rishabha.
On September 18th 2014 there has been a bilateral agreement when the Chinese President Xi Jinping visited New Delhi. This agreement has offered an alternative route for the Kailash- Manasarovar Yatra through Nathu La, in addition to the existing arduous route through Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand. In 2015 a total of 250 pilgrims will travel by the pass in five batches ? all selected, grouped and organized by the Central Government.
We hope that soon private tour operators would be permitted to take groups to Manasarovar through the Nathula route. It would be great pleasure on our part to organize Kailash Yatra for our patrons in the future.
