1. The Dal Lake

 

This beautiful Lake lies in the region of Kangra in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is sited at an altitude of 1,775m. The Dal Lake is 6.4 km long and 4 km thick and covers an area of 10 square miles. It is one of the most beautiful and well known lakes in India. It is a gift of natures to mankind. Dal Lake is well connected to other Lakes of the Kashmir Valley. One of the exclusive attributes of this lake is its Shikaras and timber Houseboats. It is famous among love couples for the honeymoon. 2. The Pushkar Lake

 

It is a man-made lake situated in the state of Rajasthan. It is located near the Pushkar city. The lake is marvelously surrounded by the hills and deserts from all the sides. It covers the overall area of about 5 km. Pushkar Lake is the holy lake of the Hindus, linked with the Lord Brahma. The lake has around four hundred temples, fifty-two palaces and fifty-two ghats.
