NGT Bans Camping From Kaudiyala To Rishikesh To Control Ganga Pollution

1. Rafting denied from Shivpuri to Rishikesh

National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken strict action in controlling pollution of River Ganga. For this, it has strictly banned any camping activities starting from Kaudiyala to Rishikesh. This ban is imposed to reduce the use of plastic and reduce pollution in Ganga. Further, a new ban is also imposed for the use of plastic from Gaumukh to Haridwar and will be effective from February 1, 2016. River rafting is allowed, as it does not pollute river.

The reason of such strict action are the result of the anti pollution activities that is taking place in Delhi and now this state has also taken strict action.

Finally, the bench has denied rafting campaign from Shivpuri to Rishikesh on the bank of river Ganga.
