Various dance groups, music bands, decorated horses and elephants form a part of the procession, which begins from Mysore Palace and ends at Bannimantap, where Banni tree is worshipped the tree, which has great reference from the Mahabharata, and it is said that Pandavas used Banni tree to hide their weapons for around one year. So this made a tradition of kings during those years to worship the tree before going to any warfare. This year they have a flea market and food mela, which were the new addition to the celebrations.
