1. Ministry of Tourism India to Host Mega Travel Mart
With plan to promote tourism in country, Ministry of Tourism India has decided to host mega travel mart from 10 to 14 January in 2017. Further, to provide global exposure to maiden exhibition, MOT will invite Request for Quotation from stakeholder agencies and will pick the eligible one. For making plans for its success and implementation, MOT will also work jointly with these organizations and will lay down best possible plans. Vinod Zutshi, Secretary Tourism, Government of India said that this program would be based on WTM and ITB themes that are owned by MOT. He also said that this program would be organized at Pragati Maidan in Delhi.
For better planning, Ministry and CII will host Tourism Investment Meeting in Delhi between 21 to 23 September. In this meeting, every state will be invited and their views will be focused. This tourism development plan will be based on the Make in India concept where domestic and International investors will actively invest in the promotion of tourism in India. To attract visitors in the country, MOT is also discussing this with Ministry of Home Affairs for extending the validity of e-visa and promoting e-business visa, e-medical visa and e-conference visa.
