1. Ministry of Tourism (MoT) Clears Tour Projects
The Ministry of Tourism (MoT), India has sanctioned 25 projects total worth of approximately INR 2,048 crore under the Swadesh Darshan scheme so far to 21 States and Union Territories (UT) since its launch of in January 2015. The states and UTs include in this project are Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh.
The ministry has sanctioned nine projects worth INR 821 crore covering all the eight states of North Eastern region. The MoT has sanctioned three projects for INR 282 crores to the state government of Nagaland, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. The MoT also approved two projects worth INR 108.11 crore to the state government of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
'Swadesh Darshan' scheme was launched in Jan 2015 by Tourism Ministry with an aim to develop theme-based tourist circuits in the country.
