Maharashtra Emphasis On Attracting Medical Tourists In The State

As per the latest government policy to provide best medical facilities to tourists, Maharashtra is all set to have medical tourism council in the state. This promotional council will exploit the potential of the state and have tie up with various hospitals and hotels to provide affordable and easy medical facilities to tourists who are in India for availing medical facilities such as cosmetic surgery, dentistry, fertility treatments, orthopaedic and cardiac-related ailments. As per report, more than 2 lakh medical tourists arrive every year in India and prefer Maharashtra as the best place for their medical facilities.

As per Secretary, Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Govt of Maharashtra, Valsa Nair Singh, tourists visit India, as Medical facilities in the country are world class and are 80% cheaper than the western countries. Thus, e-visa facilities will be soon introduced for such medical tourists. Thus, for promoting the medical tourists facilities in the state, government will soon visit Arabian Travel Market to address insurance payment issues of Middle Eastern countries. Along with medial tourist spot, Maharashtra will also be promoted as adventurous and amazing tourist sport for world.
