1. Attract More Tourists in Jammu & Kashmir
Farooq Ahmed Shan, Secretary Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir while addressing various travel associates and Trade Associations of J&K state said that combined effort is required to boost up trade in the state. He asked stakeholders who are associated with tourism sector to start new campaign programs that are capable enough to gain attention of large number of tourists.
During this meeting, various personalities associated with tourism in the state like Mahmood Ahmed Shah , Director Tourism, M. H. Mir, Special Secretary Tourism, and R.K. Varma, Director Tourism were present and were engaged in deep discussion regarding promoting tourism in the state. The main targeted visitors were pilgrims of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine and other important tourist destinations that are available in J&K. It was discussed that all the responsible tour operators should ensure to provide best facilities and provide attractive tour packages.
Further, the main reason to promote pilgrim visit to the state is to boost the economy of the state. Thus, everyone present in the meeting insisted on promoting tourism to the state through intensive campaigning. Also, decision was taken to take strict actions against who are indulged in any malpractices that directly hampers number of visitors to the state.
