After PM Modi announced the e-Tourism Visa to foreign travelers, India has experienced an increase of 252.3% growth in the tourist. Recently about 88,162 tourists visited India, which were only 25,023 in the month of January last year. The e-Tourist Visa facility is available for 113 countries of the world at 16 major Airports of India.
Here are some of the major highlights of e-Tourist Visa facility
About 252% growth was experienced for visitors who arrived India on e-Tourist Visa. To This year, the number of visitors exceeded to 88,162 tourists from last year’s 25,023 during January.
Tourists from 113 countries are provided with visa on arrival at 16 Airports of India, which were early restricted to only 43 countries.
Here are the percentages of top 10 countries and 10 ports of India who availed e-Tourist Visa during January 2016 are as follows.
UK (25.37%), USA (15.17%), China (3.96%), Russian Fed. (9.58%), Australia (5.25%), Germany (4.23%), France (6.00%), Canada (4.10%), Republic of Korea (3.72%) and Ukraine (2.86%)
New Delhi Airport (33.18%), Goa Airport (19.10%), Chennai Airport (6.95%), Bengaluru Airport (5.35%), Kochi Airport (4.17%), Mumbai Airport (20.81%), Kolkata Airport (2.99%), Trivandrum Airport (2.29%), Hyderabad Airport (2.13%) and Ahmadabad Airport (1.75%)
