In order to enhance tourism in Gujarat, Saurabhbhai Patel, Minister of Tourism, Government of Gujarat recently conducted road shows in Mumbai to promote Gujarat as a vibrant tourist destination for all. He stated that as per the new Tourism Policy, this state would have best and improved livelihood linkage, investment opportunities, and improving visitors’ experience. Various other road shows were also conducted in Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
As per Kamlesh Patel, Chairman, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd, it aims to promote Gujarat among the top 5 tourism states of India. Its campaign will be based on attracting tourists from local, national and international and this target is expected to be achieved by 2025. This state will follow investment friendly policy and will ensure best infrastructure policies and unlock immense potential of the state in Tourism sector.
As per the Tourism Commissioner & MD, N Srivastava there is a 13.5% increase in tourism in the state than previous one. The same is further reflected in the tourism budget, which is increased to INR 500 Cr recently from INR 100 Cr from 2006.
