Great move by Ethiopian Airlines to connect major cities of India with Ethiopia. It has decided to run daily flights from Delhi and Mumbai to provide easy flights to travelers from India to Addis Ababa. For attracting travelers from these major cities of India, it has introduced some introductory offers. Further to boost the travel trade between India and Ethiopia, this airline will also offer an addition 3% commission on IATA fare. From March 27th, 2016 these flights will be will be commenced from these cities and the Star Alliance airline will increase frequency of its flights to 28 from both Delhi and Mumbai.
During the announcement of new flights and their frequency in India, Tadesse Tilahun, Regional Director India Subcontinent, Ethiopian Airlines said that these new flights would increase the number of travelers between India and Ethiopia to double. Further, it is also thinking to open operations from either Chennai or Bengaluru. While Subhash Goyal, Chairman, STIC Travels, the GSA of Ethiopian Airlines in India speaking of these new flights said that Ethiopian offers the fastest airline connectivity to various other nations like Israel, Africa, South America and now to India.
