1. Govt. Relaxes Leave Travel Concession (LTC) Rules
Centre always emphasis on easing the life of travelers by providing them various concessions on their travel charges. This time it has announced to provide relaxation through the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) rules by reimbursing full train fare that is incurred by its employees on the purchase of tickets for children between five to twelve years. The decision was taken by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) after receiving various references from ministries seeking confirmation whether it is reasonable for paying complete charge to railways for reserving berths for children of these ages as it should be reimbursed under LTC facility. .
Thus, this matter was examined by Department of Expenditure and Finance Ministry. The decision in taken to provide complete reimbursement on the railway tickets those are booked for their children of these ages by the government employees. Earlier a decision was taken by the Ministry of Railways that complete charges will be taken for the tickets that are booked for the children above 5 years and under 12 years of age. Further, in this order, if the berth is not sought for such child at the time of reservation, then levy half of the adult charge wil.
