In order to promote travel agency credit card as an acceptable mode of payment in airlines, APJC (Agency Programme Joint Council)-India is heading towards its acceptability. This proposal was laid by TAFI and APJC accepted it, as currently most of the corporate entities fail to make payments within 7 days, however, with the acceptance of corporate credit cards, payment will be made timely, and agents will have extended credit time. Hence, amendment is made to Reso 890 and airlines agreed to accept addition mode of payment in today’s scenario.
In a PA conference, APJC-India recommends necessary changes for Reso so that it can enable airlines to have complete right to accept corporate credit cards of the agents. Currently airlines are bound not to accept travel credit cards under the current Reso. For this, a new Gen ISS is like to be effective soon that will enhance the agents capability in business effectively.
As per VP TAAI, resolution provided in IATA manual is outdated and in order to convince airlines to use credit cards, TAFI and TAAI are working together to ensure that every agent is able to use credit card which will further enhance the credit periods for them.
