1. Andhra Pradesh Gaining Attention of Domestic & International Travellers
Andhra Pradesh is gaining high attention of domestic and foreign tourists all through the year. The same is reflected in the increased tourism arrival report in the state last year. As per report, there is a 30% hike in the incoming traffic of passenger in the state during 2015 when compared to its previous year 2014. During the year 2014, only 933 lakh passengers visit the state and in 2015, it was increased to 1218.3 lakh. Speaking on the success of tourism in the state, Neerabh Kumar Prasad, I.A.S., Principal Secretary to Government, Tourism & Culture said that it is our endeavor to present the state as the perfect tourist destination for everyone. He also said that department is also emphasizing on the growth of the facilities and providing global standard facilities to tourists.
As per the report, the most visited location in the state is Anantapur district. The tourists preferred to visit Puttaparthi and Lord Veerbhadra temple at Lepakshi. Thus, as the state has rich diversity and capacity to attract domestic and foreign visitors. During 2015, the number of foreign visitors increased to 2.37 lakhs, which were only 66,333 during 2014.
