1. Andhra Pradesh Govt. to Lease Land to Promote Tourism
For promoting tourism in the state, Andhra Pradesh government has decided to lease land for various tourism development activities. The decision was taken under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in a cabinet meeting. In the meeting, various policies are framed for providing adequate land for improving tourism facilities in the state. As per the policy, the state will lease 10 acres of land under the bidding competition. As per source, the lease will be based on the policy where 2% of the base land will be fixed as the base price and the land will be leased to the highest rate bidder. For qualifying for the bid, government will also rate the technical and economic competency of the bidder.
Naidu made the official announcement of this policy after the cabinet meeting. The initial duration of the lease will be 33 years and further would be increased depending on the project of tourism development. The aim of this move was in consideration of the economic development and prosperity in the state. Increase of tourism in the state will definitely provide higher economic development and income to the state.
