1. Air India to Provide Air Connectivity Among Major Indian Cities
Air India has decided to provide best air connectivity to major cities of India that has no air connectivity so far. For this, airlines will make use of its turboprop planes for domestic flights and will lease bigger wide body jets for its international network. This information was provided by Ashwani Lohani, the airline’s Chairman and MD. Ashwani also met with representatives of 22 states of India, he promised them to provide complete support in enhancing the air connectivity. The state government also promised airline to charge zero tax on the aviation turbine fuel and viability gap on funding.
With this decision, Indian cities will have best air connectivity that will not only promote business between the cities but also promote tourism in the states. The cities where the new flights will be operating are from the states like Rajasthan, Karnataka, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Maharashtra. Further, the state governments and Air India invited feedbacks from travel agents and tour operators. Thus, decision will be based on after considering the various pricing and loan facilities to customers. Thus, the emphasis is to provide best connectivity along with earning reasonable profit from the flights.
