About Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple

Sri Meenakshi Amman Temple is a Hindu sanctuary devoted to Goddess Parvati, who is known as Meenakshi in the sanctuary, and her associate, Lord Shiva, named as Sundareswarar. The sanctuary remains as an image of olden times and holds enormous significance in the hearts of the considerable number of locals. The star fascination of the sanctuary is Meenakshi Nayakkar Mandapam, otherwise called the Hall of 1000 columns. The corridor has two columns of columns that are cut with pictures of yali, the fanciful mammoth with the body of a lion and leader of an elephant. Yali is generally utilized as the image of Nayak control. The lobby was worked back in the year 1569 by Ariyanatha Mudaliar. The most vital celebration celebrated in the sanctuary is "Meenakshi Thirukalyanam" which is praised each year in the long stretch of April. The celebration praises the marriage of Meenakshi and Lord Shiva.
