About Meitingen
Meitingen is a market city in the district of Augsburg, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated on the left financial institution of the Lech, 20 km south of Dona well worth, and 21 km north of Augsburg. Meitingen become first of all referred to in a certificate in 1231. Since the German Mediatisation Meitingen belongs to Bavaria in 1803. In 1844 the railroad line Augsburg Nurnberg arrived Meitingen. The creation of the Lech channel decided collection of flooding because of the river Lech.
In 1928 the Catholic priest Dr. Max Josef Metzger based the Christkonigshaus. Because of his dedication inside the worldwide peace movement he became a thorn within the Nazis' flesh. He was murdered after a denunciation in Brandenburg Gorden in 1944. His corpse rests on the local graveyard. His headstone, a memorial pill at the Christkonigshaus, the call of a road and of the secondary school recalls his willpower. With the development of the hydro-electric energy plant of the Lech-channel the industrialization of Meitingen began.
