About Urakam

The Devi sanctuary is situated at Urakam, is one among the major 108 Durga sanctuaries, prevalently called as "Ammathiruvadi sanctuary". As per the Kerala old stories, Poomulli Namboothiri likewise once in a while alluded to as Thiruvalayannur Bhattathiri established Ammathiruvadi sanctuary around 700– 1000 years prior.
