There are few places where the beauty of music is combined with the magic of a unique setting. Founded by the Hungarian performer Andre Borocz in 1950, Menton Music Festival welcomes the world's top classical artists to Menton on the French Riviera in the summer. During a fortnight spanning July and August, outdoor concerts are held opposite the port on the Forecourt of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel.
An imposing stage for a carefully curated programme of music, with great contemporary performers and international lyrical talents like the Portuguese pianist Maria Joao Pires, the French cellist Gautier Capuçon or the German soprano Diana Damrau. In recent years, the festival has diversified by also inviting lesser-known but promising artists to music events at the Jean Cocteau Museum. Over the years, Menton music festival has become established as a major event in the region, thanks to the quality line-up on offer and its exceptional setting.
