Norman Palio
About Norman Palio
From Monday 12 to Wednesday 14 August , women, knights, troops and local armies in ensemble offer life to the Norman Palio, a medieval verifiable re-order in Piazza Armerina, a Sicilian town in the area of Enna. The dining experience of the Norman Palio is praised in memory of the war 1061-1063 and of the triumph against the Muslims to free the city from their standard.
Additionally called parade, the Norman Palio is the most significant authentic re-order in all of Southern Italy, to such an extent that the occasion entered the Register of Intangible Heritage of the Sicily Region. At the verifiable re-establishment - which is a piece of the FIGS Italian Federation of Historical Games - more than 600 members in outfit take an interest. On days 12 and 13 the verifiable parades, the giving over of the keys and the instatement of the knights occur. The critical occasion is the Quintana on August fourteenth, when the knights speaking to the city's notable areas challenge each other in a jousting ride on horseback.
