About Maryland State Fair

The Maryland State Fair is the yearly state fair for the territory of Maryland. It is held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds situated close to the crossing point of York and Timonium streets in Timonium. Starting at 2006, the fair is a 11-day occasion generally starting in late August and completion around Labor Day. The first fair was held in 1878 and was known as the Lutherville Fair. The next year, 1879, the fair was moved to its present area in Timonium and was held from September 9 through September 12.
