Kaustinen Folk Music Festival
About Kaustinen Folk Music Festival
Summer's happiest days! The festive summer setting for domestic and international folk dances and music, hundreds of performances, workshops, beats and jams is served in the unique atmosphere of the Kaustinen Folk Music Festival. The Kaustinen Folk Music Festival was held for the first time in 1968. The celebration is still the largest folk music event in the Nordic countries. It has also been one of Finland's most important cultural events from the start. The festival is based on the foundation of a strong and lively gambling and dance tradition. Kaustinen not only serves as a showcase for Finnish folk culture and Finnish folk music, but also presents high-quality examples of European and world music cultures. At the party, the traditional way of moving the live music tradition from the old knee to the next is when the cribs embrace it from the masters. At the same time, tradition fuses with fresh influences.
Kaustinen is a meeting place for folk music and dance enthusiasts as well as professionals and offers countless performances for very different types of artists. Celebration work is exceptionally interactive and inclusive. The purpose of Kaustinen folk music festivals and related activities is to maintain and develop the hobby of Finnish folk music and folk dance, to support and promote the professionalism of folk music and to strengthen and promote these phenomena.
