About Kalimat

Dubai Community Theatre and Art Center has been the patron to the Kalimat, the annual exhibition on calligraphy. The main focus of this event is to explore the opportunity to use the Arabic written words in traditional as well as in modern and contemporary art. The Arabic script is beyond doubt one of the most complicated but artistic one in the world platform. The exhibition is an effort to promote the calligraphic art of Arabia to the larger forum with the help of the elegance that it adds to modern art. It is a excellent dais for the artists to display the artwork to the eager visitors thereby gaining recognition for the ancient script. On the other hand, the visitors get a close idea about the styles, techniques and approaches associated with the creations. That helps in reinstalling the glory of the language and script. The entire spirit of the art and heritage of the Middle Eastern Culture comes alive in one platform through the Kalimat. A commendable effort from the Dubai Community Theatre and Art Center, a non-profit organization thriving on public support to make art inclusive, accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
