Islamic New Year 1438
About Islamic New Year 1438
Al Hijra marks the celebration of the Islamic New Year’s Day. It is a low-key occasion in the Muslim world, celebrated less than the two major celebrations, Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha. The day commemorates the Hijra or migration of the Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Medina in 622 CE, which led to the established order of the Muslim community there. It isn't universally celebrated amongst Sunni Muslims but is extremely good given that Muslim years are dated from this time and are marked AH or After the Hijrah. In CE the Muslim yr 1441 AH starts.
In the year 622 CE the Prophet Muhammad and some of his fans moved from Makkah/Mecca to the city of Medina and installation the first Islamic kingdom there. Their arrival marked the beginning of Islam as a community wherein non secular and earthly life were absolutely included. They have been a set inspired by and completely obedient to God, sure together through religious religion. By breaking the link with his personal tribe the Prophet demonstrated that tribal and family loyalties have been insignificant in comparison to the bonds of Islam.
