About International Children's Festival
Philadelphia International Children's Festival
The Philadelphia International Children's Festival is a celebrated kids' event in the United States Of America. In fact, it is the oldest children's festival of America with a huge reputation among the people of the nation.
The Philadelphia International Children's Festival was incepted in the year 1985 with the mission to expose the Philadelphia community to the finest of national and international theatre for young people and to offer a forum for the exploration of children's issues within a theatrical context and presentation.
The famous and historical Annenberg Center of Philadelphia plays host to this show. The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts of the University of Pennsylvania is a prime cultural hotspot for the performing arts. It connects Philadelphia regional audiences and the University of Pennsylvania through exposure to innovative human expression in theatre, music and dance as a whole.
There are regular performances of theatre, circus and music. The activities continue outdoors on the Annenberg Plaza Stage with events that are free with a show ticket. The celebrations are divided in to two themes- Stageworks and Playworks. A variety of jugglers, dancers, storytellers and musicians who entertain the audience with shows throughout the festival constitutes the Stagework section and Playworks is all about hands-on craft activities.
Philadelphia's beautiful spring weather is a perfect backdrop to the festival. You can plan out a vacation during this event and be a part of the double celebrations.
