About Historic Carousel - Oath of Priors

 

The Priors Oath comprises the official opening of the three occasions that make up the Historical Carousel of the Rioni di Cori, a region in the area of Latina. Each of the three occasions happen between mid-June and late July. The three festivals are the re-order of the festivals that, until the main portion of the 1500s, were held to pay tribute to the Madonna del Soccorso, showed up in Cori in 1521, and to pay tribute to Sant'Oliva, patroness of this town since the 12th century.

 

- Oath of the Priors and gift of the Palios, Saturday 22 June ;

- Palio of the Madonna del Soccorso, Sunday 30 June ;

- Palio di Sant'Oliva, Saturday 27 July .

 

The service of the Oath of the Priors, which opens the Historic Carousel, is praised seven days before the primary prize, and is joined by the intercession of costumed figures within the sight of the city experts. The three portrayals, when they achieve the square pursued by banner falters, trumpet impacts and drum rolls get the task. After the gift of the two palios, the knights of the three entryways are contributed, who will seek the prize to pay tribute to the Madonna del Soccorso the next Sunday June 24th.
