About Coco Montoya
The old Willie Dixon proverb, "blues is truth", consummately portrays the burning, contemporary blues-shake of incredibly famous guitarist and vocalist Coco Montoya. Educated by the "Ace of the Telecaster," Albert Collins, yet with a hard-edged sound and style all his own, Montoya blends his mighty, melodic guitar playing and enthusiastic vocals with essential tunes, conveying the blues' hardest certainties. He earned his status as an ace guitarist and soul-fueled vocalist through long periods of paying his duty as a sideman with Collins first as a drummer and afterward with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, before propelling his performance profession in 1993.
Five years of steady visiting with Collins and ten years with Mayall transformed him into a beast player and dynamic entertainer. Montoya has discharged eight solo collections— including three for Alligator somewhere in the range of 2000 and 2007— and has played at clubs, show corridors and significant celebrations everywhere throughout the world. Guitar Player says Montoya plays "dazzling, powerhouse blues with a burning tone, enthusiastic soloing, and vigorous, unforced vocals".
