About 41st Annual Chicago Jazz Festival
The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events is thrilled to announce the headliners and competition dates for the forty first Annual Chicago Jazz Festival, occurring August 23 to September 1 at Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center and at other venues throughout the metropolis. The loose-admission festival will consist of a unique tribute to Nat King Cole by means of his brother Freddy Cole and a party of the fiftieth Anniversary of the Jazz Institute of Chicago, the competition’s programming associate.
“The Chicago Jazz Festival has emerge as a celebrated staple of their metropolis’s cultural lifestyles and a highlight of our summer season,” said Mayor Rahm Emanuel. “This yr’s birthday party of the Jazz Institute of Chicago, together with a lineup of legendary innovators, homegrown icons and new stars promises to delight and encourage track fans from Chicago and around the world.”
Other performances at Millennium Park’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion include: Cecile McLorin Salvant, Christian McBride, Eddie Palmieri, Ambrose Akinmusire Quartet, Ben Wendel Seasons, George Freeman and Billy Branch, Camila Meza, Latino-America Unidas with Miguel Zenon, Antonio Sanchez, Melissa Aldana and David Virelles, Joel Ross, Ryan Cohan's Originations and the Dave Rempis Quartet.
