The first and major place to visit in Manali is the Hadimba Temple which is located at the distance of 1. 5 km from the Mall Road. Hadimba temple is also known as Hidimba Devi temple. This temple was established by Raja Bahadur Singh in the year 1553. Hidimba Devi is considered to be the sister of Hidimba Rakshasa, who in the pre-historic time used to rule the Himalayans. Approx 70 meters away from the temple is another temple built on the name of Ghatotkacha; the son of Hidimba and Bhima. This place is considered as the Holy pilgrimage for Hindu and is named after Rishi Vashisht, one of the 7 saints of Hinduism.
