Taktshang Hike - Thimphu - Excursion - Sightseeing
+Full Day Excursion to Taktshang Tiger Nest Monastery. Taktshang monastery is a must visit destination to marvel at the way famous monastery was constructed at a time when Bhutan did have any access to technology. The visitors will also find themselves spell-bound lost in wonders of human achievements during medieval era. The scenic beauty, tranquility and serenity of the surrounding is something to cherish for lifetime. The uphill climb takes about 2 hours for those fit to walk and have fairly good stamina. It may take more hours to those who are not fit for the uphill climb. Riding ponies are available on payment for those who cannot walk. Depart for Thimphu on return from Taktshang Hike. The drive to Thimphu from Paro on a well paved double lane road takes about one hour. Travelers would enjoy the leisure drive along the two different rivers Pachhu & Wangchhu originating from glacial lakes higher up in the snow capped Himalayan peaks in the north. Check-in a designated hotel for the night in Thimphu.
Thimphu - Full Day Sightseeing Excursion
+Breakfast - Visit Buddha Point to admire at the wonderful gold gilded sculpture the tallest Buddha Statue in the sitting posture in the world. The statue is 169 feet tall and has 3 main floors inside which are used for 16 different temples and a library. The most fine-looking carvings, structural authenticity and superb architectural designs in the interior of the Buddha statue are something that the visitors love admiring. The bird’s eye view of Thimphu city and the surround valley could be enjoyed from the Buddha View Point Visit Takin Zoo higher up north of Thimphu valley in the pine forest. Takin is the national animal of Bhutan and a rare a rare species that the visitors would not have seen such a unique live animal in other parts of the world. Visit Little Bhutan Heritage where the guests will be treated with live demonstrations of folk arts, rural life, folk dances and many other entertainments to provide an insight into the past history of erstwhile medieval Bhutan. Visit the 13 Arts & Crafts Institute where the visitors will have opportunities to see the traditional arts & crafts being kept alive as part of the government's effort to preserve for the future. Visit National Textile Museum in the heart of town where the visitors can get insights into the past history of Bhutan through the development stages of the textiles & fabrics in Bhutan.
Thimphu - Punakha - Journey & Sightseeing
+Thimphu - Punakha - Journey and sightseeing on the way to Punakha. Stop at Dochula Pass to enjoy the panoramic views of the Himalayas towards north and the Black Mountain range that originates in Tibet and runs through Bhutan to the south adjoining the great Indian plain in Assam and Bengal. Visit Druk Wangyel Temples constructed to commemorate the successes of the 4th King Jigme Singye Wangchuck for his unceasing endeavors in the nation building. The temple is located on the top of hill accessed with concrete steps. Stroll around the Dochula Natural Park in the coniferous and rhododendron forests. There are 9 meditation caves within the Park. Visit the Royal Botanical Park at Lamperi where the visitors are treated to a short Documentary film on flora & fauna of Bhutan. The Park has an Information Center should any guests be interested in the richness of flora & fauna in Bhutan. Bhutan is one of the richest countries in biodiversity. The journey from Dochula Pass to Punakha takes the travelers through a iation of forest cover depending on the altitudes along the road. The forest covers are constituted of coniferous, Douglas fir, birch, alder, rhododendron, oak and chirpine etc. Punakha is fairly a warmer valley compared to Thimphu & Paro. Punakha - Phobjikha - Journey & Sightseeing
+Punakha was the capital of Bhutan until 1952 before shifting the capital to present day Thimphu. Structurally and architecturally Punakha Dzong is a feast to the eyes. The Hall of Prayers in the Dzong is where all the Kings of Bhutan solemnize their enthronement celebrations as they become the Kings. Visitors can also see the life history of Lord Buddha on the wall mural. Drive up stream for about 15 kms for a short hike to Zangtho Pelri Temple across the valley. The short hike takes about 45 minutes uphill through chirpine forest. The temple is located on a knoll of a chirpine forest hill. Visitors will be able to enjoy panoramic scenery of the rural side of Punakha. On return - Depart for Phobjikha after lunch at Punakha or Wangduephodrang towns. The journey from Punakha to Phobjikha Valley will take about 3 hours drive through rural villages. Phobjikha Gangtey Valley is in the alpine zone and fairly cold place. The natural topography resembles to Swiss Alpine. Phobjikha is the roosting place for Black Neck Cranes that migrate from Tibetan plateau from March and roost there on valley floor until early November. Visit the Black Neck Crane Information Center where the guests will be treated to a short Documentary film on the seasonal migration and life cycle of the huge birds. Take leisure walks in the nature if interested and permitting by time. Check-in at a Home Stay/Farm House
Phobjikha - Paro - Return Journey & Sightseeing
+Breakfast: Visit Gangtey Monastery. The monastery has historical significance in terms of Mahayana Buddhism. Return journey from Phobjikha to Paro retracting back on the same road. Sightseeing and photography on the way. Check-in a designated Hotel/Resort/Home Stay/Farm House
