Post breakfast this morning, enjoy a full day city tour which features both cultural and historical highlights, comprising Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and his house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, Ethnology Museum, the Quan Thanh Temple, the Tran Quoc Pagoda, the old quarters and shopping. The monuments, designed by the kings themselves, were also used as holiday retreats during their lifetime. Relax this morning boating on the Perfume River to the Thien Mu Pagoda, a 21-metre-high (69-foot-high) octagonal tower regarded as the symbol of Hue. Drive to the Dong Ba Market, famous for the best conical hats in Vietnam. Enjoy lunch and transfer to Hoi An, an ancient trading post of seafaring Chinese, Japanese and Portuguese merchants several centuries ago. Post breakfast this morning its time to be transferred to Danang airport for your short flight to Ho Chi Minh City, formerly called Saigon, the largest and busiest city in Vietnam. The city tour will take you around Saigon, from downtown to Chinatown. You will get to know Saigon's history and culture with stops at the Reunification Palace and at the Thien Hau Pagoda. Learn about the past and see the many stalls and diversified products available at Binh Tay Market in Chinatown. See other places of interest such as the Fito museum specializing in traditional medicine, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Central Post Office.Take the rest of the time for shopping activities around Dong Khoi Street and Ben Thanh Market. This morning after an early breakfast you are driven to Cai Be to get on board the Bassac Cruise at noon. You are welcomed with a drink on board and are then introduced to the ship and crew, check into your cabin. You then depart towards Cho Lach on the Tien Giang river. Lunch is served whilst enroute. Spend time unwinding on the deck. Branching into Cho Lach canal for 30 minutes through the traffic of sand and rice barges, in a scenery of fruit drying facilities and wooden ship building yards. Visit a village on the banks of river Mang Thit, an opportunity to appreciate the way of life and hospitality of the local inhabitants. Visit of the orchard or rice fields nearby. Boarding back, complimentary drink as a welcome back on board. Rest on the deck enjoying the sunset. The crew will serve dinner while the Bassac is cruising Mang Thit river. Wake up and enjoy breakfast this morning on board the cruise as u travel the Tra On floating market. The ship then departs towards Can Tho. Upon arrival in Cai Rang floating market, you check out and transfer onto a local boat to visit the floating market, the nearby arroyos and gardens and return to the Ninh Kieu pier.
