Day 02: Chennai Sightseeing
Morning after breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of Chennai covering St.Thomas Church, Kapaleshwar Temple and Fort St.George. Drive past the Marina Beach, the natural sandy beauty and spacious promenade and beautiful gardens of the beach attracts tourists visiting Chennai. Night stay in Chennai.
Day 03: Chennai - Tirupati (140 kms/ 03 hrs drive)
After healthy breakfast in the morning check out from the hotel and proceed to Tirupati; it is a major pilgrimage site and is also the cultural city of Andhra Pradesh. It is approximately 20 kilometres away from the famous Lord Balaji Temple situated on the beautiful hills of Tirumala. Reach there and do the prayers later in the afternoon. Evening free for own leisure activities. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04 Tirupati - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram (250 kms/ 05 hrs drive)
After healthy breakfast in the morning check out from the hotel and drive to Kanchipuram known as the Golden City of a Thousand Temples, is one of the oldest towns in India. It is famous for both its temples, many of them remarkably well preserved and for its hand-woven silks. Kanchipuram is one of the seven sacred cities of India and it is the only one associated with both Shiva and Vishnu. Visit Ekambareshwar Temple, Kailashnath Temple, Kamakshi Temple, the Vaikunthaperumal Temple, all built in the 7th and 8th centuries. With a weaving tradition dating back to the Pallava era (when silk was the royal cloth), Kanchipuram is justly famous for its particularly fine silk saris, embellished with stunning patterns. Visit the local homes of the weavers and watch them create magic out of silk thread into saris.
Day 05: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (140 kms/ 3 hrs drive)
After breakfast drive to Pondicherry which carries a strong whiff of the French presence in India. This erstwhile French colony on the east coast of South India merged with the rest of the country in 1954. Legend says that Pondicherry is the place where St.Agasthaya settled down, visit Aurbindo Ashram, the city of dawn, which is 10kms north of Pondicherry. This ashram promotes Aurbindo's ideas in bringing about a synthesis of Yoga and modern science, so as to unite the spirit and matter. After lunch at hotel, visit Auroville - a unique experiment in international living and in creating a new environment where men and women of all nationalities live together in harmony, Night stay in Pondicherry.
Day 06: Pondicherry - Madurai (230 kms/ 4 hrs drive)
After breakfast proceed to Madurai and transfer to hotel. The ancient city of Madurai, some 2600 years old is laid out in the banks of river Vaigai as a lotus flower with the Meenakshi temple in the centre. Afternoon city tour visiting - Meenakshi temple, King Tirumala's Palace, Great tank and Gandhi museum. Night stay in Madurai.
Day 07: Madurai - Palani (120 kms/ 03 hrs drive)
Morning breakfast, check out of hotel and proceed to Palani, check in on arrival to a hotel. In the afternoon visit Palani the famous Murugan Temple. Come back to the hotel in the evening. Evening free for own leisure activities, overnight at the hotel.
Day 08: Palani - Trichy (150 kms/ 03 hrs drive)
After healthy breakfast in the morning check out from the hotel and proceed to Trichy, reach there and check in at the hotel, in the afternoon Visit Temples of Trichy one of the very ancient towns of Tamil Nadu, has many interesting relics of Pallay art (7th century A.D.) - only 6 miles away is the great temple of Srirangam- an island on the Cauvery. This is a massive temple with a 100 pillar hall highly decorated with carvings, also visiting Rock fort and its temple at a height of over 23mts. In the evening, day free for own leisure activities. Day 09: Trichy - Chidambaram (170 kms/ 03 hrs drive)
After healthy breakfast in the morning check out from the hotel and proceed to Chidambaram also called as Thillai, which has the famous Nataraja temple with the root of the sanctum-sanctorum covered with golden plates is located in the centre of the town covering an area of 40 acres. In this temple, postures from the Bharatnatyam form of dance are depicted in sculpture. Nataraja is Lord Shiva as a cosmic dancer. Evening free for own leisure activities, Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Chidambaram - Chennai (120 kms/ 01 hr drive)
After healthy breakfast in the morning check out from the hotel and proceed to Chennai, reach Chennai in the afternoon go for shopping, evening free for own leisure activities, overnight at the hotel.
