Leaving the Jispa campsite is hard. But the journey ahead offers far more beautiful sights. Also this day will be a little tough in terms of acclimatization. But a steady climb and Baralachha enroute will surely cheer up the troops.
You start from the Valley of Leh, go to the peaks surrounding Khardungla, pass by the desert of Hunder and stay the night here in a simple yet beautiful homestay. Go for a ride on the double humped camels and enjoy a sunset at the dunes. Sit still and watch the stars peep out!

Day 8: Leh to Pangong via Chang La and Hemis, Shey, Thiksey

The monastaries can be covered enroute else on the way back. The latter is recommended, as the earlier you reach Pangong, the better it is, to catch the ever changing colours of the Lake. Camp on the banks of the Lake, to watch the lake literally change colours.
