Day wise Itinerary
Day 01: Airport / Sigiriya
AM Meet and assist on arrival and proceed to Sigiriya. Arrive at hotel for wash & change Visit the Sigiriya rock Fortress. Optional – Elephant ride in jungle-payable direct at tourist spot PM Arrive to hotel for overnights stay. Sigiriya is home to the 5th Century, "Fortress in the Sky" which is perhaps the most fantastic single. wonder of the island. It is also known as The Lion’s Rock because of the huge Lion that used to stand at the entrance of the fortress within its triple - molted defense. The huge rock rises almost to. a sheer height of 500ft. On its summit are the foundations Of what was once a great and. sumptuous palace and gardens, complete with swimming pools. On one of the stairways the only known. ancient work of Sinhala, secular paintings survive in the form of frescoes of the life sized damsels in all its. freshness and delicacy of their original color. Sigiriya today is one of the world heritage sites and is. considered to be the 8th wonder of the world.

Day 02: Sigiriya / Dambulla / Kandy
AM After breakfast proceed to Kandy En route visit the Golden rock cave temple in Dambulla Visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden Lunch at Restaurant PM Visit a spice garden and a batik factory in Matale Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic venerated by Buddhists, from all over the world And view a Sri Lankan Cultural Dance Show. Arrive at hotel for overnight stay. Dambulla - Located north of Kandy and considered by most to be the center point of SriLanka, Dambulla is a town built around a vast isolated rock mass 500 ft and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was here that King Valagambahu took refuge in the 1st century B.C. The view from the top of this rock is breathtaking 350 ft. above are a series of five caves which was later turned into a magnificent rock temple by King Valagambahu. In the first cave is a recumbent image of the Buddha 47 ft, long , cut out from the rock. There are images of deities associated with Buddhism. The frescoes on the walls and ceiling could be dated to the 15th - 18th centuries. In the second cave, the finest and the largest , are not less than 150 life size statues of gods. There are numerous images of the Buddha as well. The ceiling too is covered with frescoes which depict great events in the life of the Buddha , and landmarks in the history of the Sinhala People.

Day 03: Kandy / Nuwaraeliya AM After breakfast proceed to Nuwaraeliya En route visit a tea factory and a plantation. Lunch at local restaurant PM Visit Nuwaraeliya City & shopping.
Arrive to hotel for overnight stay uwara Eliya , Little England of Sri Lanka is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. It is supposed to be one of the coolest places in the island, it’s just like an English spring day, although the temperature drops at night. All around Nuwaraeliya you will see evidence of the British influence, houses like country cottages or Queen Ann style mansions. In 1867 a Scottish Planter named James Taylor planted tea seedlings on 8 hectares of forest land, in the Loolkandura Estate. Tea will grow only on rolling terrain and is classified into 3 main groups between its elevation low grown, medium grown & high grown.

Day 04: Nuwaraeliya / Pinnawela / Colombo
AM After breakfast proceed to Colombo En-route visit Pinnawela elephant orphanage PM Visit Colombo city and shopping. Pinnawela orphanage is situated northwest in the town Kegalla. It was established 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife department. This 24 acres large elephant orphanage is also a breeding place for elephants. The orphanage was primarily designed to afford, care and give protection to the many baby elephants found in the Jungle without their mothers. The orphanage attracts both local and foreign visitors.

Day 05: Colombo / Airport
AM After breakfast leave to visit city of Colombo. PM Leave to the airport for departure. Colombo, without any doubt a colonial city, which was invaded by Portuguese, Dutch and then the British. The British was in total power of the entire country except for Kandy. They developed the plantation sector and expanded the transport system with roads and rail tracks to bring goods into Colombo. With the improvement of commerce, Colombo became the main harbo, and the capital city. A city tour in Colombo will take you through the ancient footprints to the city center, full of colonial buildings known as fort which is Colombo 01, Pettah Colombo 10 is the trading place in town, Colombo 07 is the famous residential area. The Colombo museum, Town hall, Hindu and Buddhist Temples, ancient Churches, The Dutch museum, Independence hall and the famous Zoo are among the places of interest in Colombo.
