We will pick you up from your accommodation in Bali early in the morning and drive you to Mount Batukaru (2,576 m), the second-highest mountain in Bali. Visit the beautiful Batukaru Temple, located at the foot of the volcano, donning traditional Balinese clothing (needed to enter the temple) which we will provide.

This area of Bali is less frequented by tourists, although the beauty of this place is sure to take your breath away. Start riding from the temple to the Unesco listed rice paddy fields of Jatiluwih where you will take a break. From here the ride continues all the way back to the coast through rice paddy fields and local villages.

Your lunch today is the delicious babi gulling (sucking pig), Bali’s favorite dish. You can also visit the famous Tanah Lot Temple after the ride is over. One of Bali’s most beautiful temples, Tanah Lot is built on a rock in the ocean and is surrounded by the sea during high tide.

Transfer with our support vehicle to the central volcanoes of the island. Today’s ride goes around the outer rim of the volcano with amazing views of an ocean on the one side and mountains on the other. You may expect some of Bali’s best single track riding today!

Later, we descend into the caldera and ride through the lava stream where the latest eruption took place, an amazing experience. Visit the hot springs of Toya Devasa after lunch and spend a few hours there.

Transfer back to the rim late in the afternoon. This is where your hotel is located. The views of Mount Batur and the nearby lake from the hotel are amazing.

Your trekking guide will come and pick you up from your accommodation at around 3.00 am for the hike to the summit of Mount Batur. To witness Mount Batur at sunrise is to experience one of the most endearing displays of the earth’s eternal awakening. It takes around two hours to reach the summit where you will enjoy a light breakfast with coffee or tea.

You will be back at your hotel at around 9.00 am. Time to check out and get ready for the cycling part. Hop on your bicycle by 10:00 am and start riding. The route is mostly downhill and traverses a wide mixture of terrain all the way down to Ubud. The first bit of the ride goes through orchards and local villages.

The second portion of the journey takes you through rice paddy fields. After the ride is over, there is time to relax a bit by the hotel’s swimming pool or wander around in Ubud and do some exploration on your own.

Head out to visit two cultural highlights just outside Ubud. The first stop will be the amazing rice field terraces of Tegalalang. From here, the support vehicle will transfer you to Tirta Empul. For more than a thousand years, Balinese worshipers have been drawn to the Tirta Empul Temple whose sacred spring is said to have healing powers.

Take the car to the rim of Mount Abang volcano from where you will start riding. The route is a bit more technical but nothing serious and lots of fun. Pedal your way through bamboo forests, dry creek beds, jungles and rice paddies.

The ride comes to an end near the town of Tangkup, in southeastern Bali. From here we can transfer you back to your accommodation in the south of Bali or transfer you to Ubud (accommodation on Day 4 is not included).
