Afternoon city tour of Jodhpur - Rao Jodhaji built the city of Jodhpur on a rocky range of sandstone hills in 1458. A wall, 10 kilometres long, 2.7 metres thick, ranging from 4 to 9 metres in height, surrounds the city. The wall has 7 gates, flanked by bastions and fixed with pointed iron spikes. The outstanding feature of Jodhpur is its Fortress Castle (called Mehrangarh Fort), situated on an isolated rocky eminence 122 metres above the city. Then proceed to Jaswanth Thada- It is a white marble memorial built by Sardar Singh in 1899 in memory of Maharja Jaswant Singh II. Also visit Mandore Garden- distance of 8 kilometres north of Jodhpur, is the old capital of Marwar. Mandore has a temple containing a shrine to 300 million gods. Overnight at Jodhpur.
Morning drive to Udaipur via visiting Ranakpur Temples.
Ranakpur is named after Rana Kumbha whom Dharna Sah, a Jain businessman, approached when he had the vision of his great temple to ask for the land for its construction. The Temples built in the 15th century are situated in the valley of the Aravali Hill. There are 1444 pillars in the temple and none of them are similar. Ranakpur is amongst the five holiest places of the Jain community and exceptional in beauty. Overnight at Udaipur. .
