Located on the Zambezi river and lying along the borders of Zimbabwe and Zambia, Lake Kariba happens to be the largest artificial water reservoir in the world. This lake is a staggering 220 kilometers long and some 40 kilometers wide. Consequently, it covers an area of a mammoth 5,580 square kilometers with the maximum water depth touching 97 meters.
