Impressive Ruins of Great Zimbabwe National Monument

A monument after which a country is named must be really important. Situated near the town of Masvingo, Great Zimbabwe is a cluster of stone ruins that cover an area of nearly 722 hectares. Also called ''Stone Buildings". It is artistically very unique and its mammoth walls and tower still standing firmly without mortar, many know has always baffled the European and African passers by. It is an imposing structure that looks really mysterious and is a silent onlooker to what must have happened to the forgotten civilization of the Shona that took place amid 11th to 15th centuries.
